The exit
The way out that needs only the hash. It holds whatever happens to the curves, and it is public: it names the note.
When to use it
- After the machine: proofs are refused, and this is the only way out.
- When proofs for your note are refused because a mark on it is an hour old.
- Never when you want privacy: the exit shows which deposit was yours. While the machine is not proven, remember instead.
The note and where it goes
Mark
Records a hash of the note's secrets and this recipient, and the recipient. Nothing secret is shown. Marks are kept in the order they are made, and a recall pays the earliest one the secrets open, so a mark someone makes later from secrets they saw in your recall is never paid first. An hour after the first mark on a note, the spring refuses every proof for it.
An hour
blocks until you may recall (about an hour).
Recall
Shows the note's secrets and pays the recipient of your mark. Anyone may send it; it pays only that recipient, however long it takes to land. Only send it after your mark has landed: a mark someone made before yours, from secrets you gave away, would come first.
